Coal formation

This is one of the shoe boxes that we used to create a diagram of how coal is formed. This is how its made . . .first there is a tree next the tree will fall down. After that the tree will rot into the ground. Next layers of mud and clay form on top. Heat and pressure will be in the squashed layers. After that coal is made under all the layers.
This is a box that has not been finish yet but it will be finished soon .We know how coal is formed because we went for a trip to the Waimumu coal mine called solid energy. We also made an experiment in class.
This box is finshed and it looks good.

  1. Hi Room 10
This is the first time I have been on your blog. I loved seeing your coal trip photos. I missed the trip and had not seen the photos from down the bottom of the hole.
How are your dragons going? Make sure you come along and show them to Room 2 before you take them home!! You will never have to use a toaster to cook your toast when they are finished!
